Yep, you read that right. Shrek Retold, the absurdist retelling of the classic DreamWorks animated film Shrek made in collaboration by over 200 artists, is available now on VHS.

If you’re unfamiliar with the delightfully weird piece of work that is Shrek Retold, then allow me to enlighten you. Shrek Retold is a complete remake of the 2001 DreamWorks movie Shrek, about an ogre named Shrek who seeks to reclaim the land he lives on from exiled fairy-tale creatures squatting on his property by rescuing Princess Fiona with the help of Donkey, whom Shrek reluctantly tolerates as a friend. Retold hits nearly all of the same beats as the original film, often directly copying shots and mimicking the dialogue word for word, but the key difference here is in the presentation.
