Since Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Simu Liu has seen a huge rise in his career, which will not stop as Deadline reports he will star in the Seven Wonders adaption at Prime Video. The Ben Mezrich novel adaption will be written by Adam Cozad (The Legend of Tarzan) and will be directed by Justin Lin (F9: The Fast Saga). The Marvel star also executive produces with Beau Flynn, Cozad, Lin, Salvador Gatdula, Andrew Schneider, and Scott Sheldon.
In Seven Wonders, Simu Liu will play Dr. Nate Grady, a botanist who joins international fixer Sloane Seydoux in a race for a mystery connected to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The idea for the book came from Mezrich and Flynn. Flynn is known for producing several projects from Dwayne Johnson, like Jungle Cruise, Red Notice, and Black Adam.
Simu Liu leads the Seven Wonders series adaption from Prime Video
Before landing the gig for the upcoming adaption, the leading star got his start on the sitcom Kim’s Convenience, which followed a Korean Canadian family who owns a convenience store. His career skyrocketed after achieving his dream of being in the MCU by leading Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. No date has been set, nor other projects for Marvel Studios have been set for him, but he will return in the standalone film’s sequel. He should be expected in one or both of the next two Avengers movies, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. Technically, he was last seen in the MCU of the She-Hulk finale, but that could be up for debate if it counts.
For future roles, Simu Liu has plenty on his plate besides Seven Wonders. He will join Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the Barbie movie. Other projects include One True Loves, Hello Stranger, Arthur the King, Atlas, and Last Breath.
