Kody and Meri Brown finally went their separate ways after decades of marriage. On Tuesday, Kody and Meri’s split was captured in a joint social media statement. Get the details below.
Kody And Meri Brown Permanently End Their Marriage
Kody and Meri Brown had it coming long ago but continued to stick it out. Eventually, the duo permanently ended their union recently.
Despite Kody and Meri’s split, the exes noted that they are “committed to kindness and respect toward each other and all members of [their] family.”

Meri also clarified a few issues in the caption. In a recent Sister Wives One-on-One special, Kody mentioned that he no longer considered himself married to Meri.
Meri, reacting to his statement, said then that Kodi decided to end their marriage alone. However, the reality TV star claimed that she never confirmed that their marriage was over.
Meri said she was still open to reconciliation at the time. She also said:
Kodi Brown’s first wife confirmed that she and Kodi had a series of “open and honest discussions” that eventually led to their permanent separation. The TV star assured her fans that she would tell them all that transpired later, adding, “much more to be told.”
Meri also urged her fans to be mindful of their words because her family members are real people with real emotions. She further asked that no one congratulate her for ending her marriage as she valued her relationship with Kody.
Kody And Meri Brown Were Married For 32 Years
The Sister Wives stars tied the knot in 1997 and welcomed their first child in 1995 after struggling to conceive; Kody married three more wives, albeit spiritually, but Meri didn’t mind as she is of the polygamist faith. However, the New York Times best-selling author legally divorced Kody in 2014, so he could legally marry his fourth wife, Robyn Brown.
Kody was then able to adopt Robyn’s children from a previous relationship. Meri remained spiritually married to Kody after that.
A catfishing scandal in 2015 caused a strain in their relationship and made Kody and Meri split. Meri discovered she had been talking to a female career criminal instead of a man as she was led to believe. After that, Kody and Meri were no longer intimate or lived together.
In addition to the end of his marriage to Meri, Kody and his third wife, Christine, split in late 2021. He is also currently separated from his second wife, Janelle Brown. His only remaining marriage is to his fourth wife, Robyn.
