Overkill’s The Walking Dead is not coming to consoles anymore. The console version of the game was originally intended to be pushed back to February 2019. Now sources say Skybound Entertainment will no longer be releasing to consoles. Skybound Entertainment, the foreman of The Walking Dead game, stated they will be discontinuing support for PC as well.

Skybound Entertainment confirmed they ended their contract with the developer, Skybreeze Studios, and discontinuing all efforts on the game. The full statement from Skybound Entertainment is as follows,

Skybreeze Studios started the journey with Overkill’s The Walking Dead in 2014. They made a first-person shooter that resembles much of Left 4 Dead did with their series. Overkill’s The Walking Dead did not meet the standards the team was expecting. The game was to bring friends together in a fun co-op fashion in order to mow down hordes of zombies. Much like with the television series, if there is gunfire, the noise brings more zombies to where you and your friends are at.

Skybound Entertainment has announced they will continue to find new ways to put The Walking Dead series in a video game format. Currently, there is nothing announced to be in the works by Skybound. This news came a week after 505 Games stated the consoles version has just been postponed not canceled. The game was released in November 2018 but only the PC version was released, the console versions were (at the time) pushed back.
