The beloved open-world action RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, is getting an Anniversary Edition and upgrade, and Bethesda has finally revealed its prices. The upgrade will be available with the Skyrim Special Edition on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

The Anniversary Edition is due to cost $49.99 and release November 11, 2021. However, for lucky players who already own the Skyrim Special Edition, the Anniversary Upgrade will cost $19.99.

In addition to the shiny new rerelease, Bethesda will also be providing next-gen upgrades to both the Skyrim Special Edition and the Anniversary Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. In other good news, all achievement progress will transfer between the Special Edition and the Anniversary Edition however with one caveat. The transfer will only work if you don’t upgrade the PS4 version of Skyrim to the PS5 version.

Several new additions will be released with the Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Bethesda has promised some new and existing Creation Club content which will include Morrowind armor, quests with Oblivion gates, new dungeons, and more.

Along with the Anniversary Edition releasing November 11, Bethesda will also be treating fans of the franchise with a Skyrim 10th Anniversary Concert featuring music from the game, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices. November 11 is sure to be a very good day for Skyrim ultra-fans.

Although it is nice to see much-loved games receiving upgrades and next-gen support, it’s hard to know whether Bethesda would be better off moving on from a 10-year-old game and working on a sequel. Several games such as Skyrim and even GTA V have opted to upgrade their current content rather than moving onto a totally new game. However, once games reach that 10-year mark, it’s difficult to justify yet another special edition or upgrade. Are you looking forward to the Skyrim Anniversary Edition? Let us know!
