A new symbiotic character, Sleeper Agent, is set to debut in Venom #11 when it releases in August. The acclaimed series from Al Ewing, Ram V, and Bryan Hitch continues to explore the symbiotic mythology. Now, it will continue that by introducing the Sleeper symbiote into the fray with a deadly new look. Of course, that look can change…it is a symbiote after all.

Who, or What, is the Sleeper Agent?

The upcoming 11th issue of Venom kicks off a three-part story called “Venomworld.” Venom #11 sees Eddie and Dylan Brock reeling from the revelations of issue 10. Dylan is still at the mercy of  Bedlam. Meanwhile, Eddie is currently fighting across the galaxy to learn more about the symbiotes. However, all of their plans change when the Sleeper symbiote arrives.

Bryan Hitch shares with Marvel that the Sleeper agent is becoming the symbiote he loves to play with.”He hasn’t seen too much, but that’s about to change, as he’s getting serious and upping his game,” explains Hitch. He continues to share that the Sleeper symbiote is adding a new element and player to the world of Venom. The Sleeper is bringing with him chemical and biological warfare. Of course, all of that can change in an instant as the symbiotes are ever-evolving.

Sounds Awesome…Tell Me More

The Sleeper symbiote first appeared in 2016’s Venom #165 from Mark Bagley and Mike Costa. The new symbiote debuted as one of Alchemax’s that was spawned from Eddie’s Venom. After its birth, the Sleeper remained hidden in the lab to escape the Symbiote Task Force. However, the creature soon found its way merged with Eddie and then as Eddie’s pet cat.

The Sleeper symbiote exhibits several different powers. These include superhuman strength, super speed, endurance, regeneration, wall-crawling, and the ability to shapeshift into objects. Plus, it can produce special secretions that erase minds, clank, and read minds.

You can see the Sleeper Agent in action in Venom #11 on sale August 3rd.
