Indie games are always interesting figures in the evolving gaming industry. Whether it’s a new take on old genres old a brand new vision reimagining gameplay. Sloclap took that to heart, which is evident in their first release Absolver. Focusing on that combat in a multiplayer space brought intrigue to the hand-to-hand fighting games had come to resemble. Yet while their outing in 2017 was respectable, there was a question on where the studio would like to go next. Yet many were surprised to see the studio reappear as part of Sony’s State of Play presentation last February. Initially set to release last year, the game experienced a few month delays to 2022 February since the title has gained much hype and anticipation surrounding its release on PlayStation consoles and PC. So much excitement that Sloclap has revealed that Sifu has been selling many copies. Announced on Twitter, Sloclap thanks the over half a million players who have taken their first steps into Sifu.

We’re humbled that more than half a million of you have embarked on your path of vengeance so far.?From everyone at @sloclap, THANK YOU❤️#SifuGame #Sifu pic.twitter.com/1nLYjeCgiG

Sloclaps title has come a long way but recently faced some controversy over its length. While the title’s difficulty is undoubtedly a step up from other fighting games, the challenge is what draws players into the experience. Yet some have stated that the shallow level count puts the challenge on a deep difficulty curve player must overcome. Yet, the amount of time it takes is purely up to the player’s skill and determination to complete Sifu. Launching at a discounted $40 price point allows for some leniency in the way of content. In the future, Sloclap could also add to the experience with more updates that expand on the concept that much further.
