Ever since the first reveals of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, there has always been talk about the differences between the two. One major difference is the processor being used, but it sounds like Microsoft may be viewing ideas to alter the current one inside their Xbox One.
According to a report by Eurogamer, Microsoft is looking into ways to streamline the Xbox One, including how to make a smaller, cooler, and more cost effective processor for the system.The current chip used is said to cost $50 for each console, so reducing the price could mean future price drops, as Microsoft can further cut costs without losing any sort of power.
In fact, it was even reported that they may be looking into ways to move to DDR4, which could be a major change for the future of the system. However, it does sound like this particular change would still be pretty far away.
Everybody knows by now that the Xbox One is huge, taking up more room than even the Xbox 360. With the news that they are already this far along in the process of finding new ways to streamline the system, could this news mean a slim model is already in the works? It’s doubtful that anything will come out this soon, but they could always use E3 2015 to make such an announcement.
