Two of the most anticipated games for the Wii U are still very much on the way, and we’ll be hearing about them in a rather non-traditional fashion later this year. In today’s Nintendo Direct conference, Satoru Iwata showed off some new gameplay of Bayonetta 2, and spoke briefly about the next Smash Bros game for the Wii U.

In upcoming episodes of Iwata Asks, the Nintendo executive will be sitting down with the developers on Bayonetta 2 and Smash Bros. Wii U to give fans an inside look at the development process for the two games, and generate even more excitement for these two popular titles.

While nothing was seen from the New Smash Bros, the Nintendo Direct presentation did give us our first look at Bayonetta 2.
