SMITE is kicking into gear on PlayStation 4 with the open beta going live, but it and the previously-released Xbox One version are currently locked at 30fps. However, it looks like the wheels are in motion to change that in the near future.

Hi-Rez’ designer for SMITE took to Twitter to say “I guess my spoil wasn’t clear. Here’s my life changing smite console change coming soon,” which was accompanied by a video clip of the console versions running at 60fps that you can check out at the bottom of this post.

The PlayStation 4 open beta for SMITE kicked off yesterday, which is a 6.6GB file size. Beta players have instant access to all of the game’s modes, five of the game’s gods and those that are available in free rotation. There will also be no beta wipe when the full game releases, meaning all of your progress from the beta will carry over.

While an official release date for the retail version of SMITE has not yet been revealed, it is expected to be out by this Summer.
