SMITE developer Hi-Rez had previously been hinting at an fps boost on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, but now we have official confirmation that the enhancement will be coming to consoles soon.

The game’s designer, Scott Lussier, recently took to Twitter to say that “You will be able to opt into 60 FPS in the next console patch (we submit tomorrow). #TheConsoleDream.” Unfortunately, the patch does not have a release date at this time.

It’s worth noting that this will be an opt-in feature and not a mandatory switch over when it does launch, apparently as a means of avoiding aggravating people.

SMITE is a free-to-play MOBA that is available now for PC and Xbox One, with the full launch of the PlayStation 4 version coming later this year.
