SMITE for Xbox One will exit its currently running open beta and become a fully released title on August 19th, says developer Hi-Rez Studios. The game is another entry in the hugely popular MOBA genre, pitting two teams against each other in an arena. Teams choose between various heroes, each featuring unique powers and abilities, as they try to take out their enemies’ base.

SMITE offers a different take on the genre that is particularly well-suited to consoles. Featuring a closer, more third-person style camera than most other MOBAs, the game has become extremely popular on PC already. Bringing this style of game to the Xbox One could have been tough, but the team seemed dedicated to making it work.

The game is free-to-play, offering a selection of heroes, all of which are based on ancient gods. Players can currently purchase various packs that contain all current and future heroes, as well as some cosmetic add-ons. Players can also currently merge their PC and Xbox One characters. However, those features won’t last forever.

“As a courtesy to new players, the Founder’s Pack and Account Merging will remain open until August 31st, 2015, at which point they will disappear from the mortal world forever. So if you haven’t already done so, now would be a great time to merge your PC and Xbox One accounts, and to pick up the SMITE Xbox One Founder’s Pack, which includes all present and future gods, as well as 400 gems and two unique skins.”

SMITE hits Xbox One on August 19th.
