Atlus’ PS2 classic title Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is now confirmed coming to PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 25. All versions will cost $49.99, which is definitely a steep asking price considering it is a remaster of an 18 years old game, and Persona 4 Golden was sold at $19.99. Still, if you’re interested in getting it on day one, Atlus is offering a Digital Deluxe Edition for SMT III: Nocturne HD Remaster as well, priced at $69.99. It includes the following additional content along with the digital game download:

  • Exclusive access to the game four days early, on May 21.
  • Chronicle Pack: Adds Raidou from the Devil Summoner series. Already available in the base game for PS4 and Switch, only released as a free DLC for the Steam version for some reason.
  • Maniax Pack: Adds Dante from the Devil May Cry series.
  • Merciful difficulty: Adds an easier difficulty mode.
  • Mercy and Expectation Map Pack, to grind XP and Macca:
  • Little Master’s Mercy.
  • Master’s Expectation.
  • Shin Megami Tensei Background Music Pack, two songs each:
  • BGM Pack 1: Shin Megami Tensei.
  • BGM Pack 2: Shin Megami Tensei II.
  • BGM Pack 3: Shin Megami Tensei IV.
  • BGM Pack 4: Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse.

Director Kazuyuki Yamai has a few messages for veteran SMT and Persona fans below, so don’t forget to watch his video below.

  • Little Master’s Mercy.

  • Master’s Expectation.

  • BGM Pack 1: Shin Megami Tensei.

  • BGM Pack 2: Shin Megami Tensei II.

  • BGM Pack 3: Shin Megami Tensei IV.

  • BGM Pack 4: Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse.

SMT III: Nocturne HD Remaster starts when a normal day in Tokyo turns upside-down-and-inside-out when an ethereal apocalypse called the Conception is invoked. What remains of the world is swallowed by chaos, as demons and angels descend. Caught between a battle of gods and demons, the choices you — a high-schooler that was swept up into this mess — make can bring life, rebirth, or death, and determine which side will triumph.

Aside from the extra content from DLC or Deluxe Edition, this classic is remastered with:

  • New 3D models and backgrounds.
  • Suspend Save feature that lets you save your progress wherever you are.
  • Both Japanese and English voice-overs.
  • Fixes and patches implemented since the Japanese release last year. According to the Megami Tensei wikia, the Japanese version of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster adds the ability to choose skills during demon fusion, simplifying random skill selection, and giving Dante the “Pierce” ability from Raidou that makes him able to bypass enemies defenses.
