If you’re one of the last few people in the world to miss out on The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, GOG has your back.

The game’s now up for free for you to grab right now, available to anyone with a GOG account. It’s a great time to start going through CD Projekt Red’s excellent Witcher series now, especially if you can’t wait to get your hands on the studio’s ambitious new project, Cyberpunk 2077.

Of course, it won’t be as simple as heading to GOG and adding the game to your collection like you might do with Steam. You’ll need to first intall Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. It’s free to play, so you won’t be out any cash, but it might rob you of some time. Once you’ve bagged that, you’ll be eligible to download The Witcher.

You’ll also need to subscribe to GOG’s newsletter to get the game, which will net you a free Gwent Card Keg, just in case you enjoy Gwent enough to keep playing it. And you probably will, because it’s pretty addictive. It’s also a mini-game found in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

When you’ve done all that, you’ll finally be able to pick up your free game. It’s 11 years old, but still very much a journey worth embarking on. The 2007 release laid the groundwork for the fascinating tale of Geralt of Rivia, and picking up the trail from the very beginning should catapult you right into the middle of the massive Witcher fandom. We’ve been waiting for you!
