The Sniper Elite games are a long-running series of stealthy shooter games. Whether you play on PC, Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo Switch, Sniper Elite is there. Now, developer and publisher Rebellion are poised to release the fifth entry in the series. Sniper Elite 5 has an official release date: May 26, 2022.

Set during World War II, Sniper Elite 5 sees the return of protagonist Karl Fairburne. According to today’s release date announcement, Karl must stop the Nazis from enacting a plan known as Operation Kraken:
Just like in previous games, Sniper Elite 5 will offer large, open levels in which to complete your missions. It will be up to the player to stealthily navigate the environment, taking down enemies with the help of a sniper rifle. Sniper Elite 5 promises the biggest game in the series:

If you can’t wait until the release date to secure your copy of Sniper Elite 5, then you’re in luck! Pre-orders are now open on Steam, Epic, Xbox and the Rebellion Store. PlayStation pre-orders will be available tomorrow, March 17.
Anyone who orders Sniper Elite 5 before the release date will receive a pre-order bonus. The bonus includes the ‘Wolf Mountain’ mission of the ‘Target Führer’ campaign, as well as a new pistol. A Deluxe Edition of the game is also available, which will feature the Season Pass (two new campaign missions, new weapons, weapon skins and character packs).
Sniper Elite 5‘s release date is May 26, 2022. The game will be available on PS4, PS5, Steam, the Windows Store, the Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
