Sniper Elite 5 may be the fifth entry in the popular shooter franchise, but as a growing sensation, new players are finding this sensational shooter series for the first time. If you’re a Sniper Elite rookie, you may not know where to start. Luckily, we’ve compiled a list of tenants for newbies to ensure they start on the right foot.

Sniper Elite 5 Beginner Tips

Remember the following tips as a new player in the Sniper Elite series. It may take a bit of time, but you’ll be slaying Nazis in no time with enough practice.

1. Use Your Environment

While shooting your enemy is an easy way to deal with foes, it isn’t the only option. Some objects are destructible, meaning breaking them can kill enemies with collateral damage. Shoot spotlights to electrocute operators, booby trap dead bodies with grenades to deal with nosy patrols, and make use of tall grass to remain undetected.

2. Make Use of Empty Lung

Empty Lung allows players to hold their breath while aiming a ranged weapon in Sniper Elite 5. Empty Lung gives players increased control while aiming down sights and often places a cursor where shots will land. Carefully plan your shots with Empty Lung to ensure a clean kill, but make sure to time your shots, as Empty Lung doesn’t last forever.

3. Master Quick Reloads

Running out of ammo is inevitable, but making sure you reload quickly is optimal. Make sure to take advantage of the quick reload system in Sniper Elite 5. To perform a Quick Reload, press the reload button a second time once the cursor overlaps the large section of the reload circle. Quick Reload will get you ready to deal with enemies in record time.

4. Customize Your Weapons

Sniper Elite 5 allows players to outfit their weapons with various attachments and gear to better suit their preferences in battle. Take advantage of this system. If you want to reduce noise output, equip a silencer. If you’re having trouble holding your weapon steady, prepare a different stock. Try multiple attachment combinations when playing Sniper Elite 5. Head to one of the workbenches in each level to change the attachments to your weapon.

5. Monitor your Heart Rate

Keep track of your heart rate when traversing the levels of Sniper Elite 5. Make sure you have a steady heart rate when trying to pull off a ranged shot. The higher your heart rate, the harder it is to pull off a shot, especially with ranged weapons, so do your best to only use ranged weaponry when you’re well-rested.
