Sonic Frontiers 2023 DLC Roadmap: New Modes, Costumes, and A New Story

The 2023 Sonic Frontiers DLC Roadmap teases several new additions to the latest game in the franchise, which will begin to implement in December 2022 and continue to cover the course of 2023.

Sonic Frontiers has already received a free DLC update containing gear from the Monster Hunter series as well as a 1.10 patch update including bug fixes, UI improvement, etc.

The Sonic Frontiers DLC roadmap for 2023 will bring even more updates to the game over the course of the spring, summer, and fall, which will spread out across three updates according to a new promotion image.

The first of these will be costume updates that will begin distribution on December 21, 2022, with the release of the free Holiday Cheer Suit costume for Sonic. Plans for a Photo Mode and Juke Box Sound Mode were also shared for the first update, which will presumably come over the course of early 2023, and end off with a new Challenge Mode.

The second Sonic Frontiers DLC update will probably come around mid-2023 and include a new Koco character for players to encounter in addition to a timed Open Zone Challenge Mode. Most exciting, the game will also include an update that will celebrate Sonic’s birthday in some way. Sonic the Hedgehog’s official birthday is June 23, further implying this will be a mid-2023 update.

The final update will likely come in late 2023 and allow players to take control of new playable characters, namely Tails, Amy, and Knuckles. It will include a new, additional story, with new scenarios and potentially new bosses to encounter.

Sonic Frontiers is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
