A brand new story trailer for Sonic Frontiers has premiered at Gamescom 2022, showcasing some more gameplay, levels, characters, and features in the latest Sonic the Hedgehog adventure. The trailer also confirms that the game will release on November 8, 2022, affirming previous leaks.

The new Sonic Frontiers story trailer released at Gamescom gave players a brand new glimpse into the world of the upcoming entry in the popular SEGA IP.
The Sonic Frontiers Gamescom trailer sees the titular blue blur facing off against the strange new foes encountered on the Starfall Islands, most notably a new character named Sage, and traversing the game’s various levels. Across the isles are five overworld islands filled with dense forests, overflowing waterfalls, and sizzling desert landscapes, each boasting its own action-platforming challenges and secrets to discover.
Players will also discover portals that lead to special Cyber Space levels that will feature signature 3D platforming sections that will put Sonic’s speed and skills to the test. So far, players have only seen worlds based on Green Hill Zone and Sky Sanctuary showcased on the Sonic Frontiers Gamescom trailer, but there are likely many more scattered throughout the five islands.

“Worlds are colliding in Sonic the Hedgehog’s newest high-speed adventure! In search of the missing Chaos emeralds, Sonic becomes stranded on an ancient island teeming with unusual creatures. Sonic Frontiers is currently available for pre-order, as seen at the end of the new Gamescom trailer, and those who do and will receive the Adventurer’s Treasure Box. This provides Skill Points, Red Seeds of Power, and Blue Seeds of Defense to give Sonic a much-needed boost on his journey.

Sonic Frontiers will officially release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on November 8, 2022.
