While you were grinning with excitement over the release announcement of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie, an ‘Extremely obvious’ development has just come to light.

A leaked image by an unverified Twitter account has started a rumor that Knuckles The Echidna may appear as a super important character in the upcoming sequel.

According to the Twitter post, a prop of Knuckles has been seen at Fort Langley, where the shooting of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has started on April 9th. However, there is no verified confirmation regarding this ruse so far from the Paramount studio.

The prop is used during the design phase of the CGI to observe and adjust the position of the character in the real-world setting.

Many fans have already stamped this leak as a confirmation of Knuckles presence in the movie. Excitements with numerous theories can be already witnessed all over Twitter and other popular platforms. As the presence of Tails has already been teased in the end credits of Sonic the Hedgehog, this new development has given fans a lot to chew down.

The possibilities to be rumored with Knuckles presence

Knuckles is said to have a more serious and determined personality than Sonic. Apparently, Tails and Sonic are looking to work as a team in the upcoming sequel. That leaves Knuckles with the possibility to work with Dr. Robotnik or against the team of Sonic and Tails.

The same duo of writers Josh Miller and Pat Casey has teamed up once more for the coming sequel. Director Jeff Fowler has already said in an interview, “Sonic has been really looking for a friend from his own world” and that spews some anticipations.

Why it could very well be a ploy…

Nonetheless, the original game series Sonic the Hedgehog by Sega featured Tails in its 2nd version and Knuckles in the 3rd version in 1994. As Tails have already been confirmed for the coming sequel of the movie, it is reasonable to believe that Knuckles could appear in the third sequel of Sonic the Hedgehog. That means the prop seen at Fort Langley may very well be a ploy to divert these ‘leakers.’
