Sony’s PS4 games lineup at E3 was mostly comprised of titles that we’d already seen earlier in the year. Aside from a handful of PS4 games revealed at the company’s pre-E3 press conference, Sony had very little new to share. Those looking for more games on the PlayStation 4 should get precisely that during Gamescom.

In recent interview with Sony’s Jim Ryan, the SCEE CEO explains that Sony is still holding game announcements back for the European tradeshow.

“We very consciously at the PS4 reveal event in New York on February 20th showed a lot of software, a lot of first party software. What we did at E3 was really show some updates to those games and introduce The Order 1886. There’s a lot of games coming. There’s a lot going on, it’s just that we need to keep stuff back. We’ve got Gamescom for us Europeans and we need something to show at Gamescom.”

If there was any chink in Sony’s E3 presence, it was in the fact that they continued to focus on games we’d already heard much about. As good as they may be, fans were clamoring for more information about entirely new projects like The Order, where details were very slim.
