Sony earlier today introduced a way for the average joe of a player turn on their PS4 and get competitive with PS4 Tournaments. PS4 Tournaments is the next wave of esports gaming directly from the source. Playstation and Sony make it easier than ever to begin playing in a tournament from the comforts of their home living room. The PS4 Tournaments: Challenger Series as it is called will allow for you with your PS Plus subscription to enter online gaming competitions.

These tournaments are open to everyone who has an active PS Plus account. Currently, the games around these seasonal tournaments are Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2. This season seems to be centered around fighting games. Sony did say there will be three different types of tournaments being: 1 vs 1, Team vs Team, and a Free for All. These types of modes will be highlighted on the image of the tournaments available. The other pieces of information that the tournaments include when making your selection are the current stage of the tournament if the tournament is prized, and what season the tournament is in. These markers will make the player know if they are ready for it. PlayStation did say that the tournaments are inviting of everyone regardless of skill. There will be a tournament for every player to participate in.

The progression of these stages goes something like this though. There are three stages within each tournament. Stage one has the players fighting for a spot to move onto stage 2. Stage 1 will have players winning a game-specific PS4 theme. Stage 2 players can win Digital in-game currency. Stage 3 is where players can claim the grand prize and the more of the prizes from the previous two stages. Tell us below if these tournaments make it easier for the average player to go about getting into esports.
