We recently reported that PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe are to see an increase in the price of monthly and three-month subscriptions. Sony has now confirmed that the UK is the latest region to receive a price increase, starting from September 1st.

In a statement given to techradar, Sony confirmed that one month subscriptions would see a small increase from £5.49 to £5.99, and three-month subscriptions will see a bigger increase to £14.99 from the current price of £11.99. A 12 month subscription remains unchanged from its £39.99 price point.

A statement from Sony reads:

“We are dedicated to bringing PlayStation Plus members the best possible service with the most compelling content. From 1st September 2015 we will be increasing the price of monthly and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in line with market conditions. We will continue to invest in PS Plus to ensure an unparalleled experience, featuring the best quality games and features.”

There is currently no word on whether North America, or any other regions, will see a similar change.
