Sony may be working on a custom PS5 Pro Controller with special features. The codename of the controller is “Hunt,” while features include detachable sticks, trigger stops, and rear buttons. According to reports, the new hardware announcement will arrive in the coming weeks.

PS5 Pro Controller Coming in June

According to insider Tom Henderson, a more than reliable source, Sony is working on a professional controller for the PlayStation 5, which will be shown in a few weeks. Codenamed “Hunt,” it is a pro controller like many have claimed lately – removable analog sticks, trigger stops, and rear buttons.

Henderson also says that there are pictures of this controller. According to the insider, the images show a controller in the classic style of PlayStation 5, therefore similar to the DualSense from the design. Still, with some significant differences, one of which would be the buttons under the analog sticks, which allow you to remove them – Sony calls them “removable stick units.”

It will be a controller reminiscent of Dualsense in every way, but there are some critical differences. One of the most noticeable is the buttons below the analog sticks, which allow you to remove the analog sticks altogether. Another feature includes triggering stops on the back of the controller.

The prototype also has unique handles to help hold the controller, which will be removable. In addition, this PS5 Pro Controller will also receive essential software updates.

According to the latest claim, Sony will introduce new hardware products (not the new PS5) at the end of June, but it is unclear whether this rumored new controller will be a part of it. It seems that the Dualsense name is hidden, and probably also the typical features, in favor of “PS5 Pro Controller” to demonstrate the difference between that and the classic one.
