Sony’s PlayStation Plus program currently offers its subscribers a substantial value for its yearly subscription price. Free games, access to demos, and other priveledges come with the $49.99 yearly subscription. But a new survey is making its way to members, asking them for input on the inclusion of Activision’s Call of Duty: Elite program in the subscription.
Sony’s recently sent out a survey exploring new options for PlayStation Plus.
Sony asks consumers how much they would pay for a subscription to PlayStation Plus if the service also offered Call of Duty: Elite and free new Blu-Ray games. As reported by IGN, the survey examines different PlayStation Plus packages, that include a variety of options, tiered at different price levels. From what it looks like, Sony might be gearing up to increase the cost of PlayStation Plus, while adding some content to justify the hike.
Sony has already gone on the record to say that there is “nothing to announce at this time”, but don’t be surprised when more features find there way into the PlayStation Plus program. Sony has already outlined the PlayStation and gaming division as one place where the company will look to help revitalize the company, after it reported billions of dollars in losses for recent quarters. Making the PlayStation Plus program more desirable for the millions of PSN members would definitely help out the bottom line. As it stands, PlayStation Plus is more optional than anything. Unlike its competitors, Sony offers free online play on the PlayStation Network, with the PlayStation Plus program offering mostly additional content.
