Sony Pictures officially confirmed Venom 3 at CinemaCon Monday evening. The weekend-long festival took place at Little Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. As of now, there are no specific details regarding the Venom 3 movie. Both Venom has different directors, so as of now, it’s hard to pinpoint who could be directing the third installment.

This announcement came in the form of a mash-up real, which included footage of the Whitney Houston biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody. The mashup featured Kraven the Hunter, The Equalizer 3, and the new Tom Hanks film A Man Called Otto.

Venom 3: Where We Could Go With this Installment

The possibility and confirmation of a new Venom movie isn’t surprising. This is considering the fact that Venom 2 ended with a cliffhanger after-credit. Venom: Let There Be Carnage also did very well at the pandemic box office, breaking new records for it at the time. It also became 2021’s second highest-grossing film in the U.S. Overall, Venom: Let There Be Carnage saw a domestic gross of over $200 million dollars and a worldwide gross of over $480 million USD.

Both Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage star Tom Hardy as journalist Eddie Brock. The first installment sees him come into contact with his accidental sidekick, alien parasite Venom. As Eddie comes to terms with his new superpowers, he must also keep people safe from other symbiotes that threaten those around him.

(The following is a spoiler for the end of Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage and Spiderman: No Way Home). At the end of the second installment, we saw Eddie and Venom enjoying a beach sunset after establishing their relationship. The two of them accidentally got transported to Tom Holland’s Spiderverse by Doctor Strange, cutting their vacation short. At the end of No Way Home,  we see the two of them confused at a bar during the Spidermen fight. Then, Doctor Strange casts his spell to send everyone back. However, this meant that Eddie and Venom were also a part of that bunch. Before their questions are answered, they are sent back to their own universe. But not before unknowingly leaving a part of the Venom symbiote behind.

Along with no talent being announced at the reveal, there is also not a release timeline for the upcoming Venom 3 movie.
