One of the biggest barriers of the PlayStation VR is to entice people to buy it. Sony has described that it will take time for people to embrace the new technology.

Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida was interviewed by Fortune recently where he talked about the PlayStation VR and VR in general.

Yoshida was asked on the challenges of opening up VR to customers. After all, VR is a whole new experience that is different from playing a video game using a normal controller.

Yoshida said that “it’s going to take time” for people to really embrace the new tech. However, he is confident that word of mouth will spread to let others know how great it is. He feels a lot of people will invite their friends and families over to try out the PlayStation VR at their homes.

Yoshida also says people have to try out the tech for themselves to know how influential it can be. He mentions by the end of 2016, lots of people would have had a chance to try it out and will spread the world out. He is confident that people will love it.

The PlayStation VR headset is set to be released in the first half of 2016. No price or definite release date has been announced yet unfortunately.
