After an intense bidding war, Sony won the rights to distribute a new Jennifer Lawrence comedy entitled No Hard Feelings. Deadline was the first to report on the story, stating that “Sony prevailed in stiff competition.”

Jennifer Lawrence Will Flex Her Comedy Skills in No Hard Feelings

So far, there is no information regarding the plot of No Hard Feelings. However, The Hollywood Reporter’s coverage of the story indicates that the film will be an edgy comedy. The film will be a departure for Jennifer Lawrence, who will use No Hard Feelings as an opportunity to showcase her comedy chops.

In addition to Jennifer Lawrence, the other big-name attached to No Hard Feelings is director Gene Stupnitsky. Stupnitsky is an experienced comedy writer, known in his early days for penning the Year One and Bad Teacher scripts with Lee Eisenberg. Stupnitsky also served as an executive producer and writer on The Office. He notably penned the infamous Scott’s Tots episode with Eisenberg.

Stupnitsky made his film directorial debut in 2019 with the comedy Good Boys. According to Deadline, No Hard Feelings will be similar in tone to There’s Something About Mary. There is no indication of who Jennifer Lawrence will co-star with, or when No Hard Feelings will debut. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, there is word that the film may begin shooting next summer in Montauk.

Lawrence is in Demand

The massive price tag for Jennifer Lawrence’s role in No Hard Feelings is reported to be in the millions. It serves as a reminder of her massive star power. Lawrence will also lead a high-profile ensemble cast in the upcoming Adam Mckay sci-fi black comedy entitled Don’t Look Up, which will release on Netflix this December. She will also co-star with Brian Tyree Henry in Red, White and Water, which is currently in post-production and has no confirmed release date.
