It looks like Sony might be following fellow publisher Microsoft by allowing their games on other platforms. A page for the upcoming Ready Set Heroes popped up on the Epic Games Store, signaling Sony might be testing their games on other platforms other than PlayStation.

Ready Set Heroes is a fast-paced multiplayer arena brawler where you play as different heroes. The game features co-op and competitive gameplay for you and your friends to battle and prove who is the best. Use weapons, gain new abilities and gather armor to aid yourself in battle.

If this store page is anything to go by, this might be a testbed for Sony to publish certain titles on other platforms. Currently, Microsoft seems to be the leader in this philosophy by publishing Minecraft on every platform under the sun. The company recently brought Cuphead to Switch with plans for Ori and the Blind Forest to launch later this year on Switch as well.

Sony, on the other hand, hasn’t shown too much interest in bringing its titles elsewhere. Games like Marvel’s Spider-Man and God of War are only playable on PS4. Future titles such as Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II don’t look to buck that trend. There are rumors of the upcoming Death Stranding making its way to PC in the future.

SIE Chairman Shawn Layden did hint the company might bring titles to other platforms. In an interview with Bloomberg, Layden said

Looks like Ready Set Hereos might be one of the first titles in the new initiative.

In other Sony news, the company purchased Insomniac Games yesterday, putting a ring on their long-running working relationship. The purchase is the first new studio Sony has bought since 2011.

We’ve reached out to the developers, Robot Entertainment, and will update this article if we hear back.
