This would be an astronomical number, as most experts are expecting the price to be somewhere in the $400 to $600 range. The price of the Oculus Rift just came out the other day and sparked controversy at $599, so imagine the backlash that a $800+ PlayStation VR would cause.

Luckily, it appears that this was just an error according to Sony, as they told Forbes that this price listing was a mistake and that they have not announced a price for PlayStation VR yet.

An even more interesting piece of information is that Forbes says that Sony reiterated that they are targeting a release for PlayStation VR in the first half of 2016, which many have thought to be crazy without a release date or price announced yet. This would seem to indicate an announcement has to come fairly soon, but at this point, the ball is in Sony’s court and all we can do is wait.
