In continuing to show support of black lives, Sony has added a special Black Lives Matter theme for your PlayStation 4. The new theme adds a yellow and black design with “Black Lives Matter” to your screen.
The static theme is available for free, all you have to do is download it from the PlayStation Store. Once downloaded, it changes your screen to a slick black and yellow design with the iconic raised fist and the words Black Lives Matter.

The description on the PlayStation Store says, “Give your PlayStation®4 system’s home screen a personal touch with this special theme in a show of support for the Black Lives Matter Movement.”
Along with this, the upper portion of the screen has a striped black and white design with #BLM across it.
Sony, along with a multitude of other game studies, has shown their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Activision added a screen on the home page of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with a message supporting Black Lives Matter, while Bungie announced new items coming to Destiny 2 that support the movement as well.
The PlayStation 5 was supposed to be revealed on June 4. However, it was decided to push it back a week out of respect for the George Floyd protests. Sony has also issued statements condemning systemic racism and violence on Twitter.
It is not clear whether this new theme is alongside the Black Lives Matter organization or a general show of support. Whatever the case, it is great to see game companies continue to support these movements.
The Black Lives Matter theme is available for PlayStation US and European players to download for free.
