Housemarque has made a name for themselves in recent memory for their PlayStation hits. The company has recently found its most significant success so far with the PS5 exclusive, Returnal. Yet their talent did ring true in the PlayStation 4 era as well. Titles ranging from Nex Machina, Matterfall, and of course Resogun, the PS4 standout hit. These games all showcase the kinetic energy behind the developer’s designs and creations. These games all feature fast-paced bullet hell-type titles that many indie games have found success in. Pushing that forward for Returnal has been very captivating. So much so Sony knew they should hang on to their tightest indie assets, just that much more. Now just a little under a year since the release of Returnal and the purchase of Housemarque, the developers are already planning their next move. Announced today in a VentureBeat interview, Housemarque cofounder Ilari Kuittinen teased the early start of a brand new IP at Sony for the PlayStation 5.
