According to PlayStation Asia boss Hiroyuki Oda, Nintendo Switch has had a positive influence on the video games market, which is contributing into the process of Sony building more and more high quality titles.

The thinking here is that Switch has managed to raise the level of happiness of video gamers, and that the more the video gamers are happy, the more they are willing to invest in the industry buying titles and devices.

“I’d say it has had an overall positive influence on the entire games market,” he told the Japanese magazine Nikkei, as reported by Siliconera.

“Gamers want to play various games of various types, so the most important thing is that these people who love games are happy. SIE will play to its strengths by providing games of various genres, including realistic, high-definition games.”

It’s nice that Sony acknowledges the importance of competition and the quality of competitors, although this doesn’t mean the platform holder is willing to work together with them – did you see their latest statements on cross-play?
