Sony says a lot of gamers that love shooting games are now switching over to the PS4 console.

MCV UK interviewed Lauren Bradley who is the PlayStation group marketing manager. She said that in this generation, “the shooter audience is tending to switch over to PS4“.

MCV elaborated on this by saying that Sony has managed to acquire third party partnerships for several big shooting titles this generation. Last year was with Destiny and now in 2015 with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Star Wars Battlefront.

Not to mention only the PS4 has special edition consoles for both Black Ops 3 and Star Wars Battlefront. There are no plans for special edition Xbox One consoles for these games.

Bradley even said one of PlayStation’s most liked Facebook posts was one about Star Wars Battlefront. Sony is anticipating huge things for the launch of that game and more.

The PS4 still manages to outsell the Xbox One worldwide by a sizeable margin. However, Microsoft did attract many shooting game fans recently with the launch of Halo 5: Guardians. The company though did lose the Call of Duty partnership from Activision which was synonymous with the Xbox brand for many years.

It will be interesting if Microsoft can be able to win back shooting fans next year when Gears of Wars 4 releases on Xbox One.
