The Game Developer’s Conference website lists a mysterious session on “innovation at PlayStation and the future of gaming.” This wouldn’t seem like such a big deal if it weren’t for the panelists. The presentation will be led by none other than SCE Worldwide Studios President, Shuhei Yoshida, and two key members of SCEA’s research and development team.

The R&D guys are no small fries themselves; they are Senior Director, Richard Marks and Senior Software Engineer, Anton Mikhailov. The pair played central roles in the development of the PS Move controller for the PlayStation 3 and the PS Camera for the PlayStation 4. As part of Sony’s Magic Lab, they’ve experimented on a number of other ideas, including eye-tracking technology for the PlayStation 4.

Adding on the vague nature of this presentation and Sony’s propensity to play up the intrigue on big announcements, this could be our first look at the company’s VR headset. Last month, a confidential source told TechRadar that Sony’s Oculus Rift competitor is essentially finished, and ready to be unveiled at GDC 2014.

Sony’s panel will take place at GDC in San Francisco on March 18 at 5:45 PM PST.
