The next Gamescom 2022 cancellation will irritate players. According to the new report, PlayStation, and of course, Sony Interactive won’t be attending Gamescom 2022. This means that another prominent developer will skip the event after Nintendo, Activision Blizzard, Take-Two Interactive, and Wargaming.

Sony Skips Gamescom 2022, Let’s Forget God Of War Ragnarok

The game event, which will return to the physical after two years in digital, will be held in Cologne, Germany, but it will not feature at least two of the big players in the industry. One of the world’s major video game companies, Sony, has revealed that it will not be attending the annual Gamescom 2022 exhibition. PlayStation manufacturer won’t have any significant news or announcements to make during the Opening Night Live hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Sony Interactive will not participate in Gamescom 2022, which will be held from 24-28 August. This means that upcoming Sony titles such as PlayStation VR2 or God of War Ragnarok are missing from the Cologne. The developer is also not expected to attend Gamescom: Opening Night Live, presented by Geoff Keighley. Thus, no world premieres or game updates are expected from Sony at the keynote.

Sony Interactive has always been one of the most significant and largest Gamescom exhibitors. At Gamescom 2019, Sony revealed Kojima’s Death Stranding and Marvel’s Iron Man VR for PlayStation VR. The company scooped up two Gamescom awards with the Dreams game. Third-party providers Activision Blizzard and Remedy also used Sony’s presence to present titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Control.

In addition to Sony and Nintendo, Activision Blizzard and Take-Two have already announced that they will not go to Germany with their news, while Microsoft has not been issued in this regard.

Gamescom 2022 will take place between August 24 and 28; 60,000 tickets have already been sold. Do not forget to follow us for more information about the event.
