According to a new rumor, it looks like the next movie in the Tomb Raider franchise might not feature Alicia Vikander as the young Lara. Vikander was awarded an Academy Award for her performance in The Danish Girl.
However, this doesn’t seem like is enough to grant her a role in the next few movies of the series, since based on sources it looks like the production isn’t happy with her portrayal of the young archeologist from the rebooted video games series.

Sources from Crazy Days and Nights report that MGM, Warner Bros., and GK Films have not been satisfied with the performance of Alicia Vikander in the movie and with the opening weekend, which underperformed with just $23 million.
Critics weren’t too harsh with the movie, even though many claimed the direction wasn’t that great and was to change in the future in order to make the movie series more relevant. Other claimed indeed Vikander wasn’t the right choice for the role of Lara since the very first moment.

Seven years after the disappearance of her father, 21-year-old Lara has refused to take the reins of his global business empire, instead of working as a bike courier in London while taking college classes.
