Fans of old school Sega games rejoice! Well, if you own a Nintendo Switch anyway. On August 22nd, legendary classic titles Space Harrier and Puyo Puyo are joining the SEGA AGES collection. Priced at… uh… the press release didn’t include the USD price… odd. (Goes to verify this is, in fact, coming out in North America. And, it is.) Alright then, they will be 10.95 AUD, 6.99 EUR, and 5.99 GBP. So I’d guess $7.99 in America. Not bad at all.

Like with the other games in the SEGA AGES collections, Space Harrier and Puyo Puyo include some modern enhancements. In the case of Space Harrier, you get something called the “Komainu Barrier Attack”. This apparently gives you a shield that lets you pass through obstacles. But when you get hit, you lose it. Other than that it’s just the pure 3rd person rail shooter action you love from the arcade original.

With Puyo Puyo, they seem to be adding a lot of online features. With online multiplayer, leaderboards and a ranking system. So if Puyo Puyo is your thing, then this should be great news. Either way, it’s always awesome to see old games get this kind of respect when they are brought to new platforms.

These games join several others already part of the collection on Switch including Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star, and Out Run. Sega really is giving fans of their catalog a lot to enjoy. And they still have a ton of classic games they could potentially offer. I want Ecco the Dolphin and Vectorman! Also… I guess I need to buy a Switch at some point. Maybe that more power version that is always rumored to be announced. Until then, I’ll just have to stare at you Switch owners with envy while you enjoy your classic Sega games in all their glory.
