Spacebase Startopia is an interesting take on the space genre. While it isn’t your traditional space-themed title, it will be sure to attract all manner of players. Many games offer a sort of management system for resources and personnel. This one adds in the element of multiple sentient species in one environment. Set in a donut-shaped space station, players must put their managerial skills to the test and ensure smooth operations all around. You will be assisted throughout your ‘adventure’ by VAL, the station’s AI.

Spacebase Startopia is now available to PC players through the Kalypso Store, but it is currently still in beta. The beta gives players a handful of tutorial maps, two single-player missions, and 15 rooms along with three tech levels. It will also feature an early version of ‘skirmish,’ a mode allowing gamers to challenge other players.

Those who wish to buy the game can choose from two options: the Standard Edition and the Extended Edition. The Standard Edition of Spacebase Startopia will come with the base game and beta access along with it. The game’s Extended version will add in-game items and a digital soundtrack for the space station.
