Specialeffect has just announced the fourth edition of its fundraising event for disabled gamers One Special Day, which will take place on Friday 4th October 2019.

More than 50 partners have already confirmed their participation, among which, gaming giants such as SEGA, Codemasters, Jagex and Zynga.

said SpecialEffect CEO and Founder, Dr Mick Donegan.

All the funds raised during the event – both through game sales and other fundraising initiatives – will go towards supporting SpecialEffect’s work,  focusing on personalised assessments, equipment loans and equipment modifications for disabled players.

Specialeffect’s goal would be to raise £350k this year, a £50k increase from the One Special Day 2018 edition where the charity managed to raise over £300 from almost 50 games industry companies including household names like EA, SEGA, Supercell and Rovio.

This year, companies including Rocksteady, Space Ape, Miniclip, Seriously, Outfit7 and Rare have also joined the roster of participants.

Since its first edition in 2016, One Special Day has raised over £900,000 from both developers and gamers from around the world.

Donegan explained.
