It is safe to say that the hype around battle royale games is beginning to die down. This is largely due to many gamers tired of video games like Black Ops 4, attempting to force battle royale modes into their products. I happen to be one of these gamers, but don’t get me wrong. I still enjoy a round of Fortnite with my friends every now and then, but shooters are not exactly my cup of tea. Surfing the internet a few weeks ago, I came across an upcoming battle royale game that has held my attention ever since. Spellbreak. So what is this game, and why has it stood out to me over games like Pubg or Apex Legends? The answer to this question lies in the incredible and immersive looking gameplay.
The combat in this game looks different than anything we have seen before. The main gameplay appears to center around magical gauntlets that you can find throughout the map, and have your mage control. Each gauntlet has a different power such as summoning a blast of ice, slinging a flaming meteor, or even spewing out poisonous goo. You will also be able to collect multiple gauntlets, and depending on their different powers, have the ability to combine them. I invite you to check this out for yourself. When it comes to information on Spellbreak, unfortunately, Proletariat has withheld giving off too much information on the game. Although sometimes actions speak louder than words. For a while now Spellbreak has been a “Closed Alpha” which basically means that you can pay to play the game before its official release. This means that you have the ability to play this new title while it is being developed.
