Spider-Man 2 has been in development for some time now, with many fans eagerly awaiting the game’s release. However, Insomniac Games has been quite silent about the game’s development since its original announcement last year. The developers have said that this isn’t because they’re not making progress on the game – quite the opposite, in fact – but instead because they want to ensure that Spider-Man 2 meets everyone’s expectations. Being one of the most highly anticipated games of 2023, it would be a shame for it to not live up to the hype, and the same goes for the Wolverine game. The people over at Insomniac Games are confident that they can deliver a great game, and are asking fans to trust them patiently.

Spider-Man 2 Development

Insomniac Games has gone silent on the development of Spider-Man 2 because they want to focus on making the game great, not just meeting a release date. The developers are still on track to meet their goal of releasing Spider-Man 2 in 2023, but are taking their time with development to ensure that the game is of high quality and delivers an enjoyable experience for fans.

Insomniac Games tweeted that they are making good progress, and that showing off a game takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.

Don’t. We’re making good progress and it’s still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.

Insomniac Games’ Other Projects

Insomniac Games is not only working on the sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man, but also on the Wolverine game that does not have a release date yet. With both games being in full-time development, it wasn’t too far-fetched to assume that Spider-Man 2 was sliding into 2024. This also means that the Wolverine game is even further out, probably in 2024 or 2025.

Spider-Man 2 will feature both Peter Parker, as well as Miles Morales as playable characters. The game’s baddies are Kraven the Hunter and the fan-favorite symbiote, Venom. The game’s trailer showed off a new suit for Peter Parker that has four extra legs sprouting from the back as well.
