One of the year’s most anticipated films is without a doubt Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fans will certainly see it when it releases in theaters on December 17, 2021. After it leaves the theaters, it will come to Disney Plus thanks to a new deal signed between Sony and Disney. Deadline reports that all Sony films released between 2022 and 2026 will stream on Disney+ once they are finished streaming on Netflix. Earlier this week, the streaming service signed a deal with Sony to be the first streaming service their new films would be available on once they left theaters. Other films included in this historic deal are Hotel Transylvania, Jumanji, and the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff films such as Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Morbius.
Chuck Saftler, head of Business Operations for ABC, Freeform, and FX Networks, had this to say about the deal:
He added, “This is a win for fans, who will benefit from the ability to access the very best content from two of Hollywood’s most prolific studios across a multitude of viewing platforms and experiences.”
