Splatoon 2 will be getting its first Global Testfire demo event, allowing anyone with a Nintendo Switch to download and play a portion of the upcoming game before it arrives later this year. You can download the demo right now, but the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire won’t actually begin until March 24th, running until the 26th, but only at specific times.

The schedule is as follows:

March 24 12-12:59pm PT 8-8:59pm PT

March 25 4-4:59am PT 12-12:59pm PT 8-8:59pm PT

March 26 4-4:59am PT

That’s six total chances to play some Splatoon 2 before the game is out. Some of the times will probably not work well for you, but Nintendo is trying to spread them out so that overseas fans can join the fun as well.

As far as what players will be able to try out in the new demo, we don’t have definite info on that, but Nintendo shared some details. “All indications are that the content for the Global Testfire is similar to what’s being offered on the Nintendo Switch Preview Tour. Players can test four different main weapons, including the new Splat Dualies, as well as remixed versions of the iconic Splat Roller and Splat Charger.”

I tried out that new “Splat Duelies” weapon when I played Splatoon 2 at PAX East 2017. The game is looking like very familiar territory for anyone who played enough of the first game on Wii U. Some people might be upset by that, but honestly I’m just excited to get more Splatoon, and maybe on a more popular console this time around.

The Switch offers its own benefits over the Wii U version, including slightly improved visuals, and the ability to play the game wherever you go. You’ll need an active internet connection if you want to play online multiplayer, but Splatoon 2 is said to have a more robust single player campaign this time around.
