Nintendo of America has officially confirmed that the next Splatfest for Splatoon 3 will begin next month in November, as will focus on the theme of Grass-type, Fire-type, and Water-type as a cross-promotion with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet!

The debate of Fire, Water, or Grass has dominated the gaming world since 1996, and it seems Splatoon is determined to finally put this question to rest once and for all.

Grass-type. Fire-type. Water-type. This debate has perplexed our great philosophers for ages. Let’s settle it.

The Splatoon x Pokémon special #Splatfest collaboration begins 11/11 at 4pm PT!

What You Need to Know About The Splatoon x Pokemon Splatfest!

The upcoming Splatoon 3 Splatfest will be a cross-promotion with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that will focus on the debate between the three Starter Types in the Pokemon series: Fire, Water, and Grass! It is set to begin on November 11, 2022, at PM Pt and run through the weekend till the 13th at the same time.

Splatfests are limited special events in the Splatoon series that pit teams of players against each other ot determine the ultimate winner in an online battle royale! Splatoon 3 represents the first time in the series that three teams can play at once, and three-way battles called Tricolor Turf War battles can occur during the event.

Players with a Nintendo Switch Online membership can choose any of the trams that fit their liking in the Splatsville hub area, which will be decorated with Splatfest-themed assortments and hold a concern celebrating an event during the time. The goal for each team is to ink as much of the stage as possible can without getting splatted too often and the one with the most territory inked at the end wins and will receive a reward of Super Sea-Snails, which can be used to upgrade their gear.

Players who visit Nintendo NYC during the event will also be able to purchase special tee shirts based on the three teams.

Strangely, there seems there will not be a Halloween-themed Splatfest this year for Splatoon, even though there was one for Splatoon 2 back in 2020.

Splatoon 3 is currently available for Nintendo Switch and has so far sold over 3.45 million copies, marking the best launch for a Switch console in Japan. To reiterate, the Splatfest will run the place from Friday, November 11, 2022, at 4 p.m. PT and run until Sunday, November 13, at 4 p.m. PT.

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games will launch for Nintendo Switch on November 18, the week after the Spaltfest, and pre-orders are available now.
