The Game Awards 2018 is just around the corner and teasers have been popping up all over the Internet for quite a while now.

Interestingly, there’s seem to be some evidence leading to a possible reveal for a brand new Splinter Cell game.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a serious gaming event without a hint to a possible reveal for a brand new Splinter Cell game, so we’re clearly getting it now.

Host and producer Geoff Keighley has shared a teaser for the event, and this teaser – a sort of trailer from the past year – has included a reference to the Ghost Recon Wildlands mission with Sam Fisher.

“Every year I really enjoy the creative process of personally editing a teaser/hype video for The Game Awards,” he said.

“Here’s what I put together this year. It’s not meant to tease, just celebrate how much this industry means to me. Hope you’ll join us Thursday as we walk between worlds.”

The fact he was addressing the teaser as something “not meant to teaser” wasn’t enough to stop the speculation, and here we are again with a Splinter Cell rumor.

After the E3, Ubisoft complained that there would be a lack of resources which would be required to do a SC title right now, so it doesn’t look really likely that since then things have changed so deeply to lead to a proper reveal.

Anyway, the series is really one people love and care about, so anything could happen sooner rather than later.
