THQ Nordic has finally confirmed an official release date for their upcoming title Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, which will be coming to PC and consoles on January 31, 2023.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Release Date and Story Details
Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake is a 3D platformer originality teased by THQ Nordic back in September 2021. The publisher has been responsible for helping publish several other games based on the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise in the past, including Spongebob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, released back in 2020.
All of the voice actors from the show will reprise their respective roles in the game to breathe unique life into the characters on their cosmic journey.
Spongebob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is the latest game in this series and focuses on SpongeBob, Patrick, and co. as they go on an interdimensional quest to put the universe back together after SpongeBob and Patrick accidentally break with wish-granitng Mermaid’s Tears from a mysterious fortune teller.
“Wish-granting Mermaid’s Tears in the hands of SpongeBob and Patrick… What could possibly go wrong? Sure, the very fabric holding the very universe very together could come very undone, opening up portals into Wishworlds full of knights, cowboys, pirates, and prehistoric snails. But that’s nothing everyone’s favorite sponge can’t handle—with the right cosmic costume! Everybody do the Cosmic Shake!”
The game is available for pre-order now, and fans who do so will receive an Official Costume Pack that includes 7 additional costumes. The game will be released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on January 31, 2023.
