Kingdom Hearts 3 made another appearance today during Square Enix’s official E3 2018 conference with a sprinkling of additional footage added to the trailer we saw yesterday.

Namely, we got a look at Ratatouille and a selection of additional scenes, with what appeared to be Twilight Town in some of the new locations shown off. This trailer isn’t too different from what was shown during yesterday’s conference from Microsoft, but it still packed some interesting additions into what essentially amounted to an “extended cut” video.

Kingdom Hearts 3’s official release date was just confirmed on June 10, ahead of Square Enix’s E3 2018 conference. After a decade of speculation and anticipation, it was finally set for Jan. 29, 2019, thanks to an announcement via director Tetsuya Nomura. It ended up missing its original 2018 release window, and with that, Nomura apologized and asked that longtime fans understand the situation.

“We’ve announced the release day for Kingdom Hearts 3 ahead of E3 at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour,” Nomura said. “I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you.”

It’s been 13 years since we saw the latest mainline entry in the series, Kingdom Hearts 2, released on PlayStation 2 in 2005. There have been various spin-offs on both handheld and mobile platforms since then, but Kingdom Hearts 3 is the biggest game fans have been anticipating for some time.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is up for preorder now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
