Is Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth making a comeback in 2018? Well, that’s what Square Enix has led us to believe following the release of a rather mysterious trailer.
Mysterious is the key word here as the trailer leaves us practically nothing to go on. All it offers is a description which mentions that “the Goddess descends in 2018” and says whatever is being teased will be “coming soon” at the end.
The only thing we know for sure is that Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is an enhanced port for PSP released in 2006 of the original Valkyrie Profile for the original PlayStation, which released in 1999. Since then, it has received two sequels and a prequel; and though the series hasn’t genuinely moved forward since 2008, developer tri-Ace has kept it fresh in our minds by throwing in some of its characters into other works, such as Gabriel Celeste and Etherial Queen in the Star Ocean series.
For now, all we can do is play the waiting game by waiting for more updates on the recently-launched Valkyrie Profile Twitter account whose first tweet reads: “Starting today, we will share information on Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth #FirstTweet #ValkyrieProfile #VPLenneth.”
What is Square Enix planning here? This could wind up being a remake, remaster or something else entirely. Really, anything is fine so long as it isn’t another Japan-exclusive smartphone game.
