The Final Fantasy developer will hold a stream rather than a physical presentation.
Square Enix has been absent from E3 the past couple of years, but this year they’ll be back, and it looks like they’re taking a page out of Nintendo’s book. Rather than having a physical show or press conference, the company will be streaming their E3 showcase video on their website and various streaming platforms.
Square Enix is keeping quiet about what games will be showcased during the stream, but there are at least a few that we can guess. Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, both of which come out this September, are almost sure to have an appearance. We also might get more information on the upcoming Switch exclusive Octopath Traveler, which comes out a month after E3 on July 13. Some other highly anticipated games that we don’t have a ton of information on that could very well show up during this showcase include Kingdom Hearts III, the Final Fantasy VII remake and Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers game. There is also a new Life is Strange game in the works, and an eventual Final Fantasy XVI is inevitable (though not likely to happen terribly soon), but we’ll have to wait until June 11 to see what’s revealed in Square Enix’s E3 stream.
