Final Fantasy 7 is one of the most influential video games in the industry, but for its old mechanism, new gamers weren’t able to enjoy it like modern games. Therefore Square Enix decided to remake the game and split it into two parts, which the first part was released in 2020.

On the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7, the original director of the game, Yoshinori Kitase confirmed the second part would be revealed this year.

Co-director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 1, Naoki Hamaguchi, will be the director of the second part while Tetsuya Nomura takes a broader creative director position. Square Enix also launched a battle royal spin-off called The First Soldier for mobiles, and a second mobile game, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, is also in work.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 doesn’t have a released date, but fans can expect the game to be released in late 2022 or 2023.
